As Quality Control Manager Abin, based in Shenzhen, will be working with the quality control teams in China to increase our capacity out in the field and to work together with us on the long term quality improvement projects we run for our customers. Abin, a Hong Kong native, has over 20 years of experience from working in China, Taiwan and South East Asia and has a wide knowledge of products but has a specialization the in plastic molding industry. Gekko is thrilled to get the expert help in the field of plastic molding and CNC machining. Gekko team strengthened by a Swedish Project Manger

Rickard Paulsson is a welcome addition to further strengthen our Gekko team and to help us secure that our growing customer base is being supported by assigned project managers. Rickard holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Lund University and spent a year on an academic exchange in Hong Kong. With a broad academic knowledge base ranging from physics and mechanics to supply chain management he works both in our head office as out in the factory on assignments. GQSL staff to pass Social System Lead Auditor training

As a step in our commitment to increase our competence and knowledge within the area of CSR, the staff of GQSL has passed a five day SA8000 course. The course, certified by IRCA, provided a good insight into SA8000, the audit process and tools and techniques to be used. The focus was practical with a lot of case studies, as the aim was to prepare the delegates for conducting social accountability audits.

Social System Lead Auditor course

This five-day programme was a mix of interactive presentations and practical workshops to take the delegates through both the broad background issues and the key stages of a social accountability audit with the aim to:

understand the background to the social responsibility movement in the marketplace;
be aware of all the drivers for the stakeholders;
appreciate the role of NGOs and third parties;
have learned about the audit criteria, for example, SA8000 Standard, and be able to interpret them in specific situations;
get an introduction to the SA8000 audit process;
be able to apply audit tools and techniques;
be able to conduct a social accountability audit and recognise the different types of objective evidence.

The course concluded with a two hour exam and delegates were subject to continuos assessment throughout the course. GQSL staff succesfully completed the course and have met the training requirements for registration as Social System Lead Auditor with IRCA.
